Queering Football European Networking Conference 17 – 18 November 2017

This 2-day conference in Ljubljana, organized by SPOLINT in association with VIDC, united players from international and national sporting organisations (including FIFA and UEFA), representatives from grassroots organisations, NGOs, clubs, professional athletes, activists in LGBT rights, academics and sports professionals – all with the goal of discussing homophobia in football, in anticipation of the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia. THE CONFERENCE “QUEERING FOOTBALL: ADDRESSING HOMOPHOBIA AT MEGA SPORT EVENTS” SUCCESSFULLY KICKS OFF

EGLSF Workshop – Fields of sport: empowering or oppressive spaces for minorities?

The women board members of the European Gay and Lesbian Sport Federation (EGLSF) – Annette Wachter, Diana van den Born, Sarah Townsend - hosted a workshop in the “Fields of sport: empowering or oppressive spaces for minorities?" session at the European Lesbian Conference (EL*C) held in in Vienna from 5-8 October, 2017. Powerful VOICE European Workshop

Within the scope of the EU-funded VOICE project, a European Workshop was organised in Cologne, Germany, between September 25 and 29, 2017, bringing forward voices for truth and dignity from victims and survivors of sexual harassment, violence and abuse. The EGLSF also plays and active role in the project. The project Voices for truth and dignity - Combatting sexual violence in European sport through the voices of those affected (VOICE), aims at acknowledgement of sexual violence within sport and putting those affected by sexual harassment and abuse in sport at the centre of the project. European Networking Conference: Addressing Homophobia at Mega-Sport Events. Ljubljana 17.-18. November We invite football clubs, supporter groups, NGOs, athletes, football activists, national and international sport associations, academics, students and everybody who is interested to this 2day conference in Ljubljana to discuss homophobia in football. The conference is part of the Erasmus+ funded project Queering Football. The EGLSF will present a workshop on "Grassroots activism: Good practices, Initiatives, and Lessons to be Learned."
