Bidding for the EuroGames

If you would like to experience one of the most amazing sporting celebrations in Europe, then you have come to the right place!  The bidding procedure starts early, so you need to be prepared, and have a clear understanding of your clubs abilities and possibilities for hosting such an event. During the bidding process, which usually starts in April each year, there are several Q&A opportunities with the EGLSF board who can support and advise on your bid. Final deadline is in December each year.

The final presentation must be made to the Annual General Assembly in March where the delegates vote on who they think presents the best bid. But before your presentation at the AGA, you need to create a bidbook. As continuing support, the bidding club receives a handbook with all procedures and deadlines. Once the host city is announced you have 3 years to realise your plans.

The bidder must be an EGLSF member club, or several member clubs forming a joined bidding team.

The bidding cycle for 2028 is re-opened from 3rd March 2025, for all EGLSF member clubs.  Bidding cycle for 2029 will open normally in April 2025.

The timeline for 2028 bid is as follows:-

• March 3, 2025 – Bid cycle re-opens for EuroGames 2028 – bid books can be requested as of the same day
• June 30, 2025 – Potential bidders needs to sign bidding document and pay a small fee
• September 30, 2025 – Closing date for bidding
• October 1 - 3, 2025 – Candidates will present their bids to the members (in an online meeting)
• October 3, 2025 – Bids for the EuroGames 2028 will be distributed to our members for electronic vote
• October 24, 2025 – Electronic vote closes
• October 25, 2025 – Results are published
