The European Gay & Lesbian Sport Federation (EGLSF) participated in the 32nd ENGSO General Assembly held in Vienna, Austria from June 14-16. The event, hosted by Sport Austria, commenced with an opening address by Stefan Bergh, ENGSO President, and a welcome from Gerd Bischofter, Managing Director of Sport Austria.
Highlights of the first day included a presentation on EU Sport Policy priorities and Erasmus+ opportunities by the head of EACEA. The Institutions for Respect and Integrity in Sport also shared insights into Sport Integrity. The day concluded with an engaging workshop titled "Building an effective advocacy coalition: Using international evidence to support sport, recreation, and physical activity," facilitated by the Sport and Recreation Alliance from the UK.
In the evening, ENGSO members enjoyed a tour of Vienna City Hall, hosted by Omar Al-Rawi, Vienna City Council, and Michael Eschlböck, Vice President of Sport Austria. The evening culminated with a traditional Austrian dinner in one of the City Hall's elegant dining rooms.
On June 15, the General Assembly continued at Haus des Sports with a workshop organized by ENGSO Youth titled "Sport in the trending world - are we able to keep youth voices involved?" This was followed by a presentation on the use of Artificial Intelligence in sports by N3XT Sports, an ENGSO member organization.
Following lunch, members attended the ENGSO General Assembly where Tarja Krum, Chair of the ENGSO Equality Within Sport (EWS) committee, presented the committee's extensive achievements over the past year. The day concluded with the ENGSO Youth Assembly.
The assembly wrapped up with members enjoying a private tram ride to the Heuriger Schübel-Auer wine garden for a traditional Austrian evening.
