Statement on LGBTIQ rights at FWC Qatar 2022

LGBTIQ+ rights and the FIFA Mens World Cup Qatar 2022 We are a grouping of organisations who support the rights of LGBTIQ+ persons. We have come together to highlight discrimination and exclusion against the LGBTIQ+ community particularly in relation to the FIFA Mens World Cup Qatar 2022. EGLSF at Women’s World Cup Football Diversity House

EGLSF hosted two events at the Diversity House in Paris – set up by the Fare network in Paris for the FIFA Women's World Cup. The first of these events was a panel discussion that explored how LGBT sports clubs and organisations provide a ground for empowering women through sport, and the subjects of homophobia and sexism in sport. Queering Football European Networking Conference 17 – 18 November 2017

This 2-day conference in Ljubljana, organized by SPOLINT in association with VIDC, united players from international and national sporting organisations (including FIFA and UEFA), representatives from grassroots organisations, NGOs, clubs, professional athletes, activists in LGBT rights, academics and sports professionals – all with the goal of discussing homophobia in football, in anticipation of the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia.
