FiFPro European Congress Malta 16th-17th May 2017

The FIFPro World Players Union gathered in Malta to attend FIFPro European Congress. In total there were 37 players unions in attendance, which proved to be a very productive 2 days.

During the congress, which was held between the 16th and 17th of May, FIFPro European Division President Bobby Barnes took the scene to address his thoughts. Barnes singled out the courage both FIFPro and the MFPA showed in the fight for the players’ rights.

The EGLSF attend the Consultative Committee (CC) of EPAS, Cyprus 2017

On the 9th of May was the yearly meeting of the Consultative Committee of EPAS. Topic at this meeting were:
- Information on accession of new members to EPAS
- Renewals of membership (FLAS, EUPEA, Sport & Citizenship, SROC, EU Athletes, ISF)
- Report of the Consultative Committee Bureau
- Report on ongoing EPAS programme of activities: BIS analysis, corruption in sport, Pro Safe in Sport 4, Pro Safe in Sport + =sexual violence in sport against children, Keep Crime out of Sport
- Development of Goals and Strategies
- Roundtable summary on good governance initiatives / plans of the Consultative Committee members

EGLSF Statement regarding the Miami World OutGames

The EGLSF is shocked and deeply disappointed to learn that only the Human Rights, Cultural and the 3 sporting events, aquatics, football, and country and western same sex dancing, will take place in Miami for the 4th World OutGames.

To the many athletes and specifically our EGLSF members who are in Miami now, who have invested, time money and energy into attending this tournament, we want to inform you that the EGLSF has been trying to get answers from GLISA and World Out Games to find out why this has happened.

Erasmus + “Heroes of Football” Danish Parliament Hearing

Copenhagen, May 3rd, 2017

EGLSF project partners from the Erasmus+ "Heroes of Football" project, will give a presentation to the Danish Parliament during a hearing arranged by the Cultural and Gender Equality Committee. José van der Mark and Marieke Slinkert are speaking on behalf of the federation about the experiences the project has encountered over the past 17 months.

EGLSF members Pan Idraet will also speak during the  hearing.

EPAS Paris Update

Meeting of  the Consultative Bureau of EPAS

On the 29th of March there was a meeting oft he Consultative Bureau (Board) of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS) in Paris. EPAS is part of the Council of Europe and the EGLSF enjoys participatory status with the Council.

At this meeting the CC Bureau Members were informed about the accession of organisations to the Consultative Committee and which European sports organisation have to renew their membership.

At the moment EPAS runs the following joint projects:
