Queer Football Fanclubs and EGLSF join forces

Since February 2014 two important anti- homophobia institutions combines their forces. Queer Football Fan clubs with over 1,000 members in four European countries now is member of EGLSF (European Gay & Lesbian Sport Federation). EGLSF has about 10,000 members and operates on a climate in sport where everyone is free to decide about his sexual orientation or identity. ‘UpFront’ Challenge to Homophobia & Transphobia for Young Sports Fans

Friday 17 May 2013, the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHO) sees the official release of a brand new Football gaming app for mobile devices onto the market. Designed with an emphasis on fun and to challenge the skills of 11-16 year old gamers and other users, ‘UpFront’ also carries an important message – “Discrimination in sport is wrong”. FOOTBALL FOR EVERYONE

Last month people witnessed with horror the brutal beating of Svyatoslav Sheremet, head of the Gay-Forum of Ukraine, at the first ever gay parade in Kiev. This sparked major concerns over the safety of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered people in Ukraine and those attending Euro 2012 in Ukraine in June. ‘Football For Equality’ receives European funding

The European Gay and Lesbian Sports Federation are pleased to announce that they have received funding from the European Commission’s Directorate – General Justice Freedom and Security. The funding is part of a transnational project ‘Football For Equality’ headed by Austrian anti-racismorganization, VIDC. EGLSF Supports Paris Foot Gay in Defending Yoann Lemaire

Paris Foot Gay, in association with French campaign organisation, SOS Homophobie, is taking this action following a decision by the President of FC CHOOZ, Frederic Coquet, not to reinstate football player, Yoann Lemaire, at the end of august 2010, for the new football season. Lemaire took a sabbatical from the club in 2009 following homophobic comments made on camera by one of his team mates. He had been playing at the club for 14 years prior to this.
