Bern successful in bid for 2023 EuroGames

      The EuroGames – a multisport event dedicated to diversity and inclusion– will take place in Bern from July 26th to 29th, 2023. Licensed by the EGLSF (European Gay and Lesbian Sport Federation), and voted by the General Assembly, the decision was announced this week. Bern Pride is to take place at the same time. EGLSF Board Statement – EuroGames 2020 Dusseldorf Cancellation

The 2020 edition of EuroGames was scheduled to be held in Dusseldorf, Germany on August 5th-9th. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, hosting the event on these dates was ruled out. After much deliberation and effort in trying to find another date to host the EuroGames, on June 16th, EuroGames 2020 Dusseldorf organisers officially announced the cancellation of the EuroGames 2020 in Dusseldorf. All registered participants were informed directly by EuroGames 2020 Dusseldorf organisers. The reimbursement policy is clearly laid out in the information sent to registered participants. EGLSF board’s statement on progress of Rome EuroGames

On March 17th the EGLSF Assembly passed a motion asking Rome EuroGames organisers to review certain aspects of their organisation in line with EGSLF quality assurance processes. This motion included a temporary suspension of online registrations until the end of the review period on 30th March.  This review is currently ongoing and we will offer a full statement when it is complete.  It is in the interests of our members and all athletes and stakeholders that we work proactively and decisively to ensure a high quality EuroGames.   We also regret that ESSDA and the organisers of Rome EuroGames 2019 did not [...]

EGLSF EuroGames – a strong future ahead

EGLSF is pleased to announce a strong future ahead for our annual European LGBTIQ multi-sport  tournament. At the Annual General Assembly this year in Budapest, contracts were signed with Dusseldorf, Germany and with Copenhagen, Denmark for EuroGames 2020 and 2021 respectively, and the Assembly voted the bid for the 2022 EuroGames in Nijmegen, Netherlands. Once a year the EGLSF celebrates a huge European gay sport event: EuroGames - a high-quality sport event for the LGBTIQ sports community.
