Campaign: Football V Homophobia

The Justin Campaign, a campaign launched in memory of Justin Fashanu, the world’s first and only out gay professional football player; is to launch an international day opposing homophobia in football – Football v Homophobia on February 19th 2010. The days intention is to raise awareness of the prevalence of homophobia in the world’s favourite sport and unite individuals, clubs and organisations in working against it. Closing LGBT Sport Desk: EGLSF saddened by GLAAD news

The European Gay & Lesbian Sport Federation (EGLSF) is today saddened and disappointed to learn that GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) has been forced to close its Sports Media Program. The Sports Media Program, headed up by Ted Rybka, has worked with gay and transgender athletes – both amateur and professional and with sports media outlets from ESPN to Sports Illustrated to elevate the voices, stories and accomplishments of LGBT sports people since 2007. EGLSF Funding Programme: Innovation and Good Practice Fund

EGLSF Board is pleased to announce a new initiative for 2010 to support the development of inspirational projects amongst member clubs – The Innovation and Good Practice Fund.
