Political Conference

The Political programme of EuroGames Stockholm 2015 will take place between the 6th and 8th of August at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern in Stockholm.

The programme includes sixteen exciting items, consisting of lectures, interviews and panel conversations. Within these, questions concerning heteronormativity and resistance thereof in sports will be raised. The programme aims to create a safe place where the issue of sport and inclusion are discussed.

Examples of programme items are; "Mikaela Destiny Laurén meets Orlando Cruz", an interview with Orlando Cruz, Puerto Rican professional boxer, about his experience of "coming out" during an active career as a professional boxer; "An Olympic coming-out story", a lecture by Peter Häggström, former long jumper, about the importance of being yourself to be able to perform at a top level and; "An alternative way of transitioning", a lecture by Kian Sigge, personal trainer, about how training and nutrition can help us express our self-perceived gender.

The Political programme is interpreted between spoken English and Swedish sign language in collaboration with Tolkforall! (Few changes can occur.)

The Political programme welcomes everyone and is FREE!
Cultural Program

The cultural programme will include many great offers all around Stockholm. Do not miss the unique exhibition by Lars Lerin, Kakan Hermansson and Nino Ramsby at Sven-Harrys Konstmuseum. In the art produced exclusively for this exhibition, the three artists actively explore LGBTQ issues from a personal perspective, in the form of aquarelle, ceramics and poetry.

Another exiting exhibition that will take place during EuroGames Stockholm 2015, is the Swedish sports confederation together with Swedish Sport Museum. This exhibition shows examples in which the rights for LGBTQ persons in relation to equal value, equal rights, companionship and freedom are being questioned. They demonstrate the challenges that remain to be solved by the sport sector.
