As in previous years, EGLSF was present at the ILGA Europe annual assembly. Our federation is an ILGA member since 2013 and board members Christiana Daneva and Jon Landa held a workshop under the title Play the change: tackling discrimination in and through sports. In the frame of the ILGA Europe conference, under the title MOVEment: Leading Sustainable Change, we shown to attendants some of our members’ best practices, granted thanks to the Pride in Sports project. Çavaria, the Flemish network for lgbtiq rights, collaborated with us in the workshop preparation and presented the campaign Sports4every1 , developed in Flanders and the Brussels region last spring and summer.

Finally, the participants created nex best practices from three different contexts: a lgbtiq sport club who wants to reach new members; a regular sport club who wants to be lgbtiq inclusive and a group of lgbtiq and allies who want to create a lgbtiq sport clubs in a geographically hard context. It was a short session (only 1 h 15 min) but both Çavaria and EGLSF are happy with the participation and feedback.

Here you will find more info of the 2014 conference, which took place in Rīga, Latvia, from 9th to 12th October.
