January 2016, Gelsenkirchen, Germany

The EGLSF was represented at the 18th International QFF Conference in Gelsenkirchen. The conference was hosted by Andersum at Schalke 04 which was attended by more than 100 delegates from Germany, Switzerland, UK, and The Netherlands.

On the Friday evening the response from FIFA was discussed along with the “Good Practise Guide” and how FIFA were not addressing anti-discrimination measures which are clearly present in their guide.

Saturday morning consisted of many workshops, and the EGLSF was represented in the “Planning Actions” stream. From the Zurich meeting it was decided that the 3 main priorities for the QFF to focus on were, “Go East: Strengthen LGBTIQ football fans in Eastern Europe”, “Football V Homophobia Month 2017” and “Prides and CSDs”.

During the afternoon session the EGLSF presented a short overview of the Federation and how the EGLSF can help the QFF with their international and alignment/vision going forward. The EGLSF and the QFF will work closely over the next coming months, as the EURO 2016 will take place in Paris this June.

The next QFF conference will be held in “Football Pride Week” in Berlin this October, where the EGLSF will report back on the findings from the Euro 2016.
