At the beginning of Jun the EGLSF board made a very important trip to the host city of next years EuroGames, Helsinki! During the short stay we visited the city hall and met with the Deputy Lord Mayor Mrs. Ritva Viljanen, The Chief of Sport Mr Anssi Rauramo, and the EuroGames 2016 host club HOT ry, Juha Meronen and Erika Patrikainen. On Friday morning the 5th of June we went to the city chambers where a morning meeting was held. The main purpose of the meeting was to share all the relevant information needed when a city hosts a EuroGames.

After a formal welcome from Mrs Ritva Viljanen, the board and the committee were told how much the city of Helsinki was willing to support such an event. Juha and Erika then presented the winning bid presentation and after answered some questions from the floor. Mrs Viljanen then presented Klaus Heusslein with a cultural book on the city of Helsinki and of Finland. The rest of the afternoon was spend traveling around to some of the venues at which the games will take place. We also visited the central area where the athletes village will be erected.

And finally, there was some great excitement as the registration for the EuroGames 2016 officially opened! Early bird discount is available and don't forget that each EGLSF member receives discount when registering!

The board would like to extend their gratitude to everyone who looked after us during our stay and especially to Mrs Viljanen, Mr Rauramo, Juha and Erika!
