After the ice was broken at the Winter Olympics 2010 in Vancouver with the Rainbow house, the organisers of the Summer Olympic Games in London are counting on LGBT fanbase. The London Olympics are officially targeting LGBT community with their marketing efforts. At the London Pride and in their online shop they have begun selling commemorative Olympic badges supporting the gay community. More than 9000 registrations already received; participants are coming from more than 70 countries to Cologne. The Rhein Energie Stadium is the venue for the spectacular opening ceremony. The central venues during the games are the villages in the city centre on Neumarkt and Rudolfplatz. In one month the Gay Games VIII Cologne 2010 will commence. Saturday 10 July 2010 is the date of the Budapest Pride. You may also be aware that earlier this year Hungary elected a new Government. This makes support for Budapest 2012 EuroGames more crucial than ever. In solidarity with the Budapest 2012 Organisers and the LGBT people of Hungary, representatives from EGLSF Board, including the female Co-President of EGLSF Louise Englefield, will be travelling to Budapest for this year's Budapest Pride. Registration for the Gay Games Cologne has officially closed on May 31, 2010. First numbers report over 9.100 participants registered to take part in the 8th Gay Games which are to take place between July 31 and August 7 in Cologne, Germany. Although the registration has finished, there is still one more chance to participate in Gay Games VIII Cologne 2010. You can now be placed on a waiting list to participate. The president of the International Gay & Lesbian Football Association (IGLFA), Mr Klaus Heusslein, was interviewed on the subject of homophobia in football on the occasion of the launch of the 2010 Football World Cup.
