Each year, the magazine honours a deserving LGBT athlete as its Athlete of the Year. The biggest LGBT sports and cultural festival in the world took place in Cologne from July 31 to August 7, 2010. Some 10,000 participants from more than 70 countries converged for the Gay Games VIII Cologne 2010 and celebrated the principles of participation, inclusion and personal best. In response to the massive interest shown in the Football v Homophobia initiative set up by The Justin Campaign this year, the organisation has decided to create an online survey as part of a global consultation process ahead of the 2011 event.
