The European Gay & Lesbian Sport Federation demands that the Federation of Gay Games and the Gay & Lesbian International Sport Association return to the negotiating table to plan One World Event in 2022.

The EGLSF has learned with dismay that the Federation of Gay Games (FGG) and the Gay & Lesbian International Sport Association (GLISA) are no longer in discussions to plan a single world sports, cultural and human rights event in 2022 together, instead of holding separate Gay Games and World OutGames in successive years.

While both FGG and GLISA have publicly accused the other of being the guilty party in the breakdown, EGLSF demands that differences be set aside for the good of the community. EGLSF, its members and the members of both FGG and GLISA have repeatedly and over many years demanded and voted for the amalgamation of the two events into one. We believed that this attempt, where talks have been ongoing for two years, looked set to achieve this aim.

We also strongly condemn the announcements of both organisations that they are now seeking to hold separate events once again.

As a member of both FGG and GLISA, EGLSF will now look into what steps can be taken. The community wants one single world event every four years.

EGLSF will continue to host its own event EuroGames annually as our members determine.
