
The main output of the MESIS project, where EGLSF is a partner, is finally ready!
After the training of trainers (Sofia, 2023) and the Capacity Building Sessions (CBS) held in Rome, Ljubljana, and Lisbon (in 2024), aimed at creating inclusive sports communities for LGBTQI+ individuals through education and sport, the Outsport e-learning course is finally online in English and will be soon be available also in Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Slovenian and Bulgarian.
Building on the success of the Outsport project, endorsed by the EU Commission and the World Health Organisation, this e-learning course is inspired by the Council of Europe’s Compass Manual and aims to develop key competences in non-formal Human Rights Education.
This course is ideal for Coaches, Physical Education (PE) teachers, Childhood and Youth Educators, Youth Workers, Team Building and Diversity Consultants. It supports everyone committed to improving group dynamics.
The Outsport Coach focuses on fostering safer spaces, tackling SOGIESC discrimination, and driving sustainable social change in and through sport.
Learning objectives:
- Becoming aware of what discrimination is, how it works and how to tackle it.
- Empowering learners to confidently address SOGIESC based discrimination.
- Mastering the Outsport Competence Framework based on the core values of Dignity, Equal Opportunities, Diversity and Community Building.
- Understanding how to create more inclusive sporting environments, learning communities and team-working spaces.
- Building confidence and ability to propose a set of exercises for the final target groups – whether youth, students, athletes or work teams.

The MESIS project is a significant initiative under Erasmus+ aimed at fostering LGBTI-inclusive sport communities through the development of innovative educational tools and practices. By leveraging the successes of previous projects like Outsport, MESIS is committed to enhancing the skills of educators and sports professionals, creating accessible e-learning resources, and establishing robust local partnerships. With its focus on capacity building, strategic local implementation, and the dissemination of best practices, MESIS is poised to make a lasting impact on the inclusivity of sports environments across Europe.
