The French Premier League authorities (Ligue de Football professionnel - LFP) and Paris Foot Gay (PFG) will unite their efforts on May 17th for the World Day against homophobia. For the first time, a national event will be held in association with professional clubs committed to fight discriminations.

During the 36th day of the Premier League championship, several events will be organized in Premier League stadiums: a video cofinanced by the LFP will be shown on giant screens at the Parc des Princes (Home stadium of the Paris Saint Germain club in Paris), at the Geoffroy Guichard stadium in Nantes (west of France) and the Louis II stadium in Monaco before the beginning of the games scheduled that day, May 16th.

Long time partner of PFG, the Paris Saint Germain club, before its game against Auxerre at 9.00 pm on May 16th, will host a game at 7.00 pm between PFG and the Variétés club de France. The players of PSG and Auxerre will also be photographed with a banner saying "Red card to homophobia". Last but not least, a banner will be displayed amongst the audience.

The clubs of Auxerre, Monaco, Nice and Saint-Etienne have also committed to sign the Charter against homophobia, already signed by the LFP and the PSG.
This 9th Day against Homophobia can be regarded as a turning point: never before professional football has shown so much commitment. PFG hopes other clubs will follow next season.

Paris Foot Gay thanks French Premier League authorities (LFP) for its financial and logistical support, without which these events could not take place.
European Gay & Lesbian Sport Federation (EGLSF) supports the initiative and encourages members, individuals, local, national and international organisations to take action against homophobia.
