In June the UEFA EURO 2008 will take place in Austria and Switzerland. QWIEN (spell Queen) will organize a poster competition about homosexuality and football to discuss homophobia in soccer. An exhibition of the posters during the competition in the centre of the city will help to make queers visible in this mainstream event.
A prominent jury (including stars like Jimmy Somerville, artists and filmmakers) will nominate a winner for the 1st prize of the competition. The online-edition of the renowned Austrian newspaper Diestandard will organize a people’s voting presenting the winner at the Viennese CSD on July 12.
Everybody (no matter what gender, race, nationality, religion, or profession he or she is) is invited to participate in this contest and we ask you to spread the information about it in your organisation, magazine, with friends, artists, people from creative industries etc.
