Partners of the LBTQI*Women*Active project participated in the final dissemination workshop of the project Women in Sport : Research & Outcomes hosted at the Novotel Conference Centre, Valencia, Spain on 25th October 2025 by the Federation of Gay Games. Both projects are small collaborative partnerships in the field of sport, funded by the European Commission through the Erasmus+ programme.
Following a presentation of the key quantitative and qualitative results revealed by the project research of Women in Sport : Research & Outcomes from the University of Valencia, represented by AngĂ©lica MarĂa Sáenz-Macana and Dr. Javier Gil-Quintana participants took part in interactive workshops across three spaces:
- Sport participation: participants shared experiences through open-ended questions that integrated the previously presented WSRO results with the realities on the ground, identifying concrete barriers and enablers to participation.
- Leadership roles: needs and proposals were explored to broaden the presence of women and non-binary people in decision-making roles.
Promotion of safe environments for LBTI+ women: the discussion emphasised the importance of creating safe spaces, strengthening protocols, and investing in training and organisational culture to sustain inclusion.
LBTQI*Women*Active project partners helped facilitate and offered reporting support for the workshops and presentations of discussions were reported in the final plenary by Panteres Grogues represented by Noemi Fluxia, Discover Football represented by Pia Mann, and Bilits represented by Robin Zlatarov. The dissemination workshop brought together over 80 sport experts, coaches, officials and athletes from Europe, Asia and USA and provoked insightful discussions of both the data presented and their lived grassroot experiences.
