| The Vienna Beach Rugby Festival is an international beach rugby tournament taking place from July 10 to 12, 2026, in Vienna, at the Spezi Sportinsel on the Danube Island. For the first time in Vienna, teams and rugby fans from all over Europe will come together at this three-day sports and community event to experience the dynamic and entertaining sand-based version of the sport (Beach Rugby 5s) — whether as active participants, spectators, or supporters. The program offers a diverse mix of competition and community experiences: Friday: A girls’ tournament and/or camp aimed at supporting young talent and encouraging girls in sports. Saturday: A major tournament featuring women’s and men’s teams, as well as an LGBTQ-friendly match to promote diversity, inclusion, and equality in sports. Sunday: Continuation of the tournament with finals followed by a joint closing party for participants and the community. The festival combines sport, fun, community, and culture. In addition to the competitions, it also offers community-focused events such as a welcome evening and celebrations open to all participants and visitors. |
