Dear sportswoman and sportsman,

The time has come. The queer multi-sport tournament in Düsseldorf (GER), the Düssel Cup, has opened its doors: From 11-13 April, we are once again expecting more than 600 athletes from all over the world to experience a great weekend together. This time we have the following sports on the programme: Badminton, Football/Soccer (FLINTA), Running, Swimming, Sport Shooting, Squash (new), Table Tennis, Volleyball, SquareDance and PartyDance (new).

Would you like to take part? Are you queer and would you like to experience a weekend where you can have fun playing sports and partying with like-minded people in a tolerant environment? And you can't experience this in your country in this form? Then the Düssel Cup outreach programme might be something for you.

 

The outreach programme promotes the participation in tournaments of queer people from countries where society and politics are not very friendly or even hostile towards these people.

It offers the following support:
- Free participation in the tournament and associated events
- Accommodation with private individuals / hostels / hotels
- Public transport tickets for the weekend
- Catering during the tournament period (for the most part)
- Financial support for travelling expenses

If you also require a visa for the Schengen area, we will support you with a personalised ‘Letter of Invitation (LOI)’ - either LGBTIQ-based or neutral. The team is available to provide you with advice and assistance.  However, we cannot provide a guarantee.

If you would like to take part, please fill out an application form for the outreach programme or information for the LOI, sign it and send it back to outreach@duessel-cup.de by 28 February. The outreach team will then get in touch with you and look forward to receiving your application.
