Mar 9:
The Conference and the AGA are now over. Many thanks to all the delegates, participants, guests and speakers for attending.

The registration for the special hotel price has been prolonged by Feb 20. The number of rooms is limited, however!

'BUILDING BRIDGES 3' CONFERENCE
EGLSF - European Gay & Lesbian Sport Federation and Stichting Homosport Nederland, in cooperation with the City of The Hague and the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sports prepared the ‘Building Bridges 3 Conference’.
A conference about the position of lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender persons (LGBT) in sports, took place on the 6th of March 2009, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the founding of the European Gay and Lesbian Sport Federation.
The event was held in The Hague and was primarily aimed at the policymakers of governing bodies and administrators from both LGBT-sports organisations and general sports.
Overview of the keynote speakers:
• Mr Harvard Bjorkedal Ovregard, Norwegian Olympic Committee (NIF)
• Mr P. Velazquez, European Commission Deputy Head of the EU’s sport unit
• Ms Anne Jensen, European Gay and Lesbian Sport Federation (EGLSF)
• A representative from UEFA
• Mr Ben Baks, liaison for the EGLSF to the Council of Europe
Besides a plenary session there were also several workshops where delegates were able to
exchange their experiences and learn from each other. Workshops were organised by focusing
on the following topics:

TRAVEL
If you come by air, the nearest airport
is Rotterdam Airport. Transavia has
lowpriced flights to Rotterdam from
several cities (www.transavia.com).
All major Airlines fly to Schiphol
Amsterdam Airport which has a direct
connection with The Hague by train. This
takes about 30 minutes. Trains operate
every 15 minutes.
Eindhoven Airport has a lot of low cost
airlines and is a hub for Ryanair (www.ryanair.com) and WizzAir (www.wizzair.com). Travelling to he Hague takes a 1,5
hours by train.
If you plan to travel to Brussels airport
(Brussels National / Zaventem) it takes
2 hours by train extra to travel to The
Hague.
We also suggest to check www.dohop.com and www.skyscanner.net for all flight
possibilities.
We highly recommend members form
Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland
