The "Sport, a cure for homotransphobia" project is a transnational initiative running from May 2025 to October 2026, dedicated to combating so-called LGBTQIA+ conversion practices across Europe.

JG CW will enhance the inclusion and participation of athletes defining as women and athletes with diverse sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions in European grassroots sport through combatting discrimination & addressing intolerance and establishing an inclusive sport culture where all can participate.

LBTQI* Women Active
Aims to drive significant change in the inclusion and participation of LBTQI women in grassroots sport across Europe.

LGBTIQ+ Sport Observatory
European Observatory on LGBTIQ+ Hate Speech in Sports
Erasmus+ funded Sport project 2026–2029, led by the EGLSF together with universities, sport organisations, and human rights actors across Europe. Goal is to understand, prevent, and combat LGBTIQ+ hate speech in sport — and build the foundations for a lasting European Observatory.

PROGRESS
PROGRESS (Promoting Gender Rights, Equality Skills in Sport) – primary aim is to strengthen gender equality initiatives in sport through a coordinated European strategy.
The project addresses the ongoing issue of gender-based discrimination in the sports industry, focusing on guiding sports trainers to challenge stereotypes and discriminatory norms in their teaching activities. Ultimately, the idea is to create a more inclusive and equitable sports environment for all.

SAFE
Safeguarding Approaches Focusing on Grassroots Sport Environment
Erasmus+ funded Sport project, 2026–. Led by the European Non-Governmental Sports Organisation (ENGSO), with partners from across Europe, including EGLSF, and with different expertise in safeguarding, inclusion, and grassroots sport.

+PLUSS
LGBTQI+ Policy and Leadership in Sport and Society
+PLUSS enhanced the inclusion and participation of athletes with diverse sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, and sex characteristics in European grassroots sport by combating discrimination & addressing intolerance against sex- and gender-diverse athletes and by establishing an inclusive sport culture where all can participate.

EQUIP
The Equip for Equality in Practice 2021 - 2023
EQUIP responded to the unacceptable levels of inequality and sluggish implementation of equality policies in sport, by adopting a pragmatic approach that will ultimately help towards ensuring that everyone has an equal opportunity in the life and practice of sport in Europe. The role of the EGLSF was to be an Equality Expert and a member of the Steering Committee.

iSPORT
Inclusion In Sport
iSport promotes diversity and social inclusion in sport by bringing together partners from many sectors who traditionally face barriers to sport participation - women, LGBTQI+ community and people with disabilities. Project outputs include an online MOOC and an interactive learning tool to be used as guidelines to help future sport event organisers offer inclusive events. Co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.

MESIS
Missing pieces for Educators and local Stakeholders addressing Inclusive Sport
The project fosters LGBTI inclusive sport communities by new pedagogical tools and competences in the field of the “Education Through Sport”. The project generated e-learning and practical tools for organisations and youth operators involved in sport, in particular coaches and PE teachers, and developed local strategic partnerships in the field of LGBTI and ETS, by selecting 15 local stakeholders.

SGS
Addressing discrimination in sports and dismantling barriers faced by transgender athletes, LGBTQ+ individuals, and women.
Key measures developed through the project included Institutionalized Dialogue, Guidelines for Inclusion, Awareness Campaigns and Inclusive Trainings.

WSRO
LBTI+ Women in Sports: Research & Outcomes
Research data to reflect the situation regarding participation and visibility of LBTI+ women in sport, as individuals, and through their participation in mainstream and in LGTBIQ+ sports organisations...

#Black Lives Matter Survey
The BlackLivesMatter movement shook the world in 2020 and has hopefully helped to change a small part of it.
As part of a small grant from the @farenetwork, we prepared a research questionnaire which was sent to member clubs and other LGBTQI+ sport organisations in Europe.
