badminton Edinburgh Raqueteers festival fortnight LEAP Scotland

Edinburgh Racqueteers will host the National LGBTQI+ Open Badminton Tournament on Sunday 23rd June at Westwoods Health Club, Edinburgh, as part of LEAP Sports Scotland's Festival Fortnight.

This informal doubles badminton tournament is for all abilities and skill levels but you will need to bring or hire a racquet (£1 from the health club's reception) and also you have to be over 18 years old to enter.

Please note - mixed doubles will be playing against same sex doubles. There will be no separation.

Firstly, everyone will play in a round robin and after a late lunch :-), this will be followed by playing in a league style competition. The top 8 from this will progress to the quarter finals and so on. There will be a trophy awarded to the overall winners.

Please bring food and water as this will not be provided.

As this is a fun event, it will be a blind partnership which means your badminton partners will be allocated on the day :-)

We also plan to have a social get together afterwards, likely at a local bar with food options – venue TBC.
