EGLSF at VOICE final conference

EGLSF was present at the final conference for the VOICE Erasmus+ Sport project this weekend in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany. EGLSF has worked with other stakeholders in the academic and sports worlds to secure support for the victims, generate sound research data and enable the development of contextualised resources for the benefit of the European sport community.

The culmination of 2 years work in combatting sexual violence in European Sport through the voices of those affected, this final 2-day conference was a powerful and emotional presentation of  the results of the study, and the new educational resources developed for the European sport community.

EGLSF attends the EU Sports Forum

EGLSF took part in the EU Sport Forum 2018 in Sofia on 22-23 March. The Forum was themed “Sport in Europe, investing for future generations” and gathered 380 participants representing sport organisations, policy making bodies, EU institutions and Member States.
The Forum’s main objective was to take stock of progress achieved in implementing the EU agenda for sport and to seek stakeholders’ views on current and planned/possible future activities. Annual General Assembly Copenhagen 2018

The Annual General Assembly, which took place in  Copenhagen on 3rd-4th March, voted in three new members to the EGLSF board – Erika Patrikainen, Istvan Manheim and David Hofstetter.

We welcome them and look forward to working with them. Sarah Townsend, former board member, takes on the role of General Secretary.

The Annual General Assembly also voted in favour of future EuroGames in Copenhagen in 2021, and future Annual General Assemblies in Budapest (2019) and Stuttgart (2020).

EGLSF at the “Play the Game 2017” conference, Eindhoven.

This year there was the 10th edition of the Play the Game Conference in Eindhoven. More than 450 participants discussed the biggest challenges in the world of sport.

At the centre of the conference are classic Play the Game themes like doping, match-fixing and corruption in sport, but themes like innovation and new trends in sports such as e-sports have also found their way in to the programme.

Queering Football European Networking Conference 17 – 18 November 2017

This 2-day conference in Ljubljana, organized by SPOLINT in association with VIDC, united players from international and national sporting organisations (including FIFA and UEFA), representatives from grassroots organisations, NGOs, clubs, professional athletes, activists in LGBT rights, academics and sports professionals – all with the goal of discussing homophobia in football, in anticipation of the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia.

The two days were organized with a mix of workshops, plenary sessions and panel presentations, and united over 70 participants from 17 countries.
