EGLSF co-president elected to CC Bureau of EPAS

The EGLSF is pleased to announce that Annette Wachter, co-president, was re-elected to the Consultative Committee (CC) Bureau of the Enlarged partial Agreement on Sport of the Council of Europe (EPAS).

The CC is a partnership body which gives its opinion on the programme of activities and provides advice for the decisions of the Governing Board. 

The CC elected a new Bureau at its meeting on Monday, the 14th of May in Strasbourg, France:

EGLSF speaks at IDAHOT Forum 2018, Lisbon

EGLSF accepted the Government of Portugal and ILGA Portugal’s invitation to speak on the Sports workshop panel for the IDAHOT Forum 2018, Lisbon on May 14th, 2018.

The central theme of the Forum was mainstreaming of LGBTI rights from local to global policies. The Forum was a full day of plenary presentations and workshops, that highlighted many of the current-day issues concerning our community, covered in themes from sport to interculturality, local politics and education.

EGLSF at VOICE final conference

EGLSF was present at the final conference for the VOICE Erasmus+ Sport project this weekend in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany. EGLSF has worked with other stakeholders in the academic and sports worlds to secure support for the victims, generate sound research data and enable the development of contextualised resources for the benefit of the European sport community.

The culmination of 2 years work in combatting sexual violence in European Sport through the voices of those affected, this final 2-day conference was a powerful and emotional presentation of  the results of the study, and the new educational resources developed for the European sport community.

EGLSF attends the EU Sports Forum

EGLSF took part in the EU Sport Forum 2018 in Sofia on 22-23 March. The Forum was themed "Sport in Europe, investing for future generations" and gathered 380 participants representing sport organisations, policy making bodies, EU institutions and Member States.
The Forum's main objective was to take stock of progress achieved in implementing the EU agenda for sport and to seek stakeholders’ views on current and planned/possible future activities. Annual General Assembly Copenhagen 2018

The Annual General Assembly, which took place in  Copenhagen on 3rd-4th March, voted in three new members to the EGLSF board - Erika Patrikainen, Istvan Manheim and David Hofstetter.

We welcome them and look forward to working with them. Sarah Townsend, former board member, takes on the role of General Secretary.

The Annual General Assembly also voted in favour of future EuroGames in Copenhagen in 2021, and future Annual General Assemblies in Budapest (2019) and Stuttgart (2020).
