The 18th ENGSO Forum took place in Brussels on 11-12 September 2015 within the framework of the European Week of Sport (EWoS), namely on the EWoS focus day dedicated to sport clubs. European sport issues were tackled: this time, the role of sport clubs in activating citizens and accommodating to changing societies. Next to widening the participants& knowledge, the Forum also provided a platform for interaction and exchange among ENGSO member organisations, partners and decision-makers, giving an informative and inspiring atmosphere to the event.

On Friday, 11 September 2015, prior to the Forum, the ENGSO EU Funding Seminar was organised. Experts such as ENGSO Sports Policy Director Heidi Pekkola, ENGSO Youth Project Coordinator Sara Massini and EOC EU Office Deputy Director Matthias Van Baelen guided the participants through the labyrinth of EU programmes, call for proposals and application forms. The Head of Sector of Sport and Youth from the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency of the European Commission Luciano Di Fonzo was there to help maximising the chances of  sport organisations in applying for EU grants.

On Saturday, 12 September, at the ENGSO Forum, the role of sport clubs in changing society in future was discussed. Remco Hoekman, prominent senior researcher at Mulier Institute and Radboud University Nijmegen gave an overview from a cross-national comparative perspective on sport clubs in Europe, pointing out that sport clubs, being the core of the European sport system, have to face the challenges of aging, environmental changes, as well as the overrepresentation of highly educated, men and youth. His presentation was followed by an example from national level by Susanne Erlandsson, Vice-President of the Swedish Sports Confederation. She presented how the Swedish Sports Movements meets one of the future challenges, inactivity. The keynote speaker was Researcher of the Free University Brussels Dr Rein Haudenhuyse, presenting examples how sport clubs could approach the future. He mainly focused on the future challenge of social inclusion.

The Saturday session also included a high-level panel with Deputy Director General of the Education and Culture Directorate-General of the European Commission Jens Nymand Christensen, ENGSO President Carlos Cardoso, Chairman of the European Lotteries& Sport Working Group Walter de Beauvesier Watson and ENGSO Youth Committee Member Gerda Katschinka.
