Our organization, A.S.D. Balon Mundial in Turin (Italy), has recently
kicked-off a local campaign to challenge prejudice and the exclusion of LGBT people within Immigrant communities in the region of Piedmont. On 17 May 2015, we held a street football tournament to foster new opportunities for LGBT people to participate in football. The event was partially funded with a small grant we received from F.a.r.e. Network for Idahot 2015.

In addition, our main summer event, the Balon Mundial Tournament, is currently underway and the participation of teams and spectators is as strong as ever with 36 football teams playing soccer 11 (men) and 12 football teams of soccer 5 (women). In essence, the tournament is a world cup for the immigrant communities in our region.  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvVLAR5v0l5YTiWhA2tkJBw

The Finals will take place at the Nebiolo Stadium (12.000 seats) in Turin from 1 to 5 July 2015 and we would like to use that occasion to invite LGBT FAN GROUPS AND CLUBS to participate: We would be very happy to have your groups attend the finals, to join the audience as always, to be visible with your messages and banners and to help further the discussions that will take place at the Balon Mundial vs. Homophobia Conference on Saturday 4 July 2015.

Due to budget restrictions, we can only provide accommodation for those who will like to come. Unfortunately, we are unable to cover transportation costs. Please note that Turin has many low cost flight options (i.e. from London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, etc…) and can be easily reached from Milan airports (Malpensa and Bergamo) by a 2 hour bus drive or train service.

We sincerely hope to have the privilege of your presence here. We are looking forward to seeing you, including in the days before the event, if at all possible.
