Special notes - Elections

Four Board positions are open for election:
- Male Co President
- General Secretary
- Two Board members at large
According to article 11.4 of EGLSF bylaws, gender equality must be assured at EGLSF Board level.

In order to ease the task of AGA delegates concerning elections, we advise potential candidates to send to EGLSF Female Co-President (louise@eglsf.info) a brief note prior to the AGA. The letter should indicate which position you are running for, including a brief curriculum and presentation, in total of one (1) A4 sheet. EGLSF will forward this message to all the members. According to EGLSF bylaws (article 11.7.2), candidates should have been members of an EGLSF member club for at least one year. Members clubs are asked to check among their own members for qualified candidates and, if they wish so, to nominate then for the vacant positions.

Out of fairness and transparency, here are decisions of the current Board members whose post is open for re-election about their candidatures:
- Current Male Co President, Pepe García Vázquez will not run again for re election;
- Current General Secretary, Lou Manders intends to run for the position of Male Co President;
- Current female Board Member Gabriella Körmendi intends to run for re election;
- Current male Board Member Andrej Pisl intends to run for re election.

If you, or any member of your club, would like to stand for election to any of the above mentioned positions, please email me at louise@eglsf.info indicating the post for which you would like to run. Please also provide a brief statement, no longer than 1 A4 sheet, describing why you want to stand for election and what you would bring to the post. This will be forwarded to all EGLSF members. To assist with AGA preparations, we would be grateful for all nominations before 15 February 2011, although nominations after this date will still be accepted.
Please note that potential candidates must have been a member of an EGLSF member club for at least one year.

Accommodation

The exclusive hotel partner of the AGA 2011 is the IBIS Hotel "Frankfurt-Centrum."  A limited number of rooms at the excellent price of 49.00 euros per night for a single occupancy and 59.00 euros per night for a double occupancy – including breakfast has been negotiated! The hotel is located very close to the conference location.

IBIS is the largest sponsor of FVV'sOutreach Eastern Europe program.  Every year the hotel donates a number of rooms for Eastern European participants of our XMAS Tournament.  We therefore kindly request that you show your thanks and support... and book your hotel room at IBIS.  For every 10 booked and paid rooms for the AGA 2011, we will receive one room "for free" that we will make then available to a delegate from Eastern Europe.  So the more rooms booked, the better it is for everyone!  You can reserve your room at this special price through February 4th:  book directly with the hotel (via email or phone) and provide the code word "EGLSF" to get the conference discount.
