Powerful VOICE European Workshop

Within the scope of the EU-funded VOICE project, a European Workshop was organised in Cologne, Germany, between September 25 and 29, 2017, bringing forward voices for truth and dignity from victims and survivors of sexual harassment, violence and abuse.

The EGLSF also plays and active role in the project.

European Networking Conference: Addressing Homophobia at Mega-Sport Events

European Networking Conference:
Addressing Homophobia at Mega-Sport Events.
Ljubljana 17.-18. November

We invite football clubs, supporter groups, NGOs, athletes, football activists, national and international sport associations, academics, students and everybody who is interested to this 2day conference in Ljubljana to discuss homophobia in football. The conference is part of the Erasmus+ funded project Queering Football.

The EGLSF will present a workshop on “Grassroots activism: Good practices, Initiatives, and Lessons to be Learned.” John Ryan and Sarah Townsend will present the workshop, along with past EGLSF co-president Lou Englefield.

EGLSF launch first ever Euro Pride House for the UEFA Women’s Euro, Utrecht 2017

Sunday 16th July, saw the historic moment when the EGLSF organised the first ever Euro Pride House for a women’s European football championships. This project initiative is under the “Erasmus+ project, “Queering Football”. The event took place at the Bodytalk bar in Utrecht, the radiant and vibrant heart of the Netherlands. The evening was officially opened by Karin Blankenstein, founder of the John Blankenstein Foundation. EGLSF Attend ENGSO EU Seminar

In 2015, the EGLSF signed a Memorandum of Understanding with European Non-Governmental Sports Organisation (ENGSO), the objective of which is to strengthen the partnership between the two organizations, and work together in activities and projects promoting grassroots sport in Europe, with a special focus on tackling discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

Join us from 10am till 3pm on 24th June at the National Football Museum Manchester for a programme of speakers and workshops marking the rise of the LGBTQ fan movement.

Out gay racing driver Danny Watts and Justin Fashanu’s niece Amal feature in a line-up including LGBTQ supporters, police, academics and club staff, designed to generate fan-centred solutions for combating Hate Speech and promoting LGBTQ inclusion in the nation’s football stadia.
