EL*C Workshop presented by the EGLSF

The European Gay and Lesbian Sport Federation (EGLSF) attended the 2-day European Lesbian* Conference held in in Vienna from 5-8 October, 2017 in order to present our workshop in the “Fields of sport: empowering or oppressive spaces for minorities?” section.
EGLSF presented the work we do for our 22 000+ members, the work we do with the Erasmus + EU programmes such as VOICE, Heroes of Football and Queering Football, and then opened the floor to an open discussion.

As part of the Football People movement, the European Gay and Lesbian Sport Federation (#EGLSF) is hosting a panel discussion entitled “Fields of sport: empowering or oppressive spaces for minorities?” in the framework of the European Lesbian* Conference.

The conference takes place during the @FARE #FootballPeople action weeks on 9/27/2017 at the

Highest ever fine imposed on swimming-pool discriminating against LGBTQ sports association in Hungary

Budapest, August 29, 2017 – The Equal Treatment Authority found that a local-government run swimming pool discriminated against an LGBTQ sports association when it declined to rent out two of its swimming lanes for a sport event. The Authority imposed a fine of 1 million HUF.

A Smashing Time in Amsterdam!

Last June was a month full of celebrations for our member club Smashing Pink.
 
For the 25th time the annual international Pinkster Tournament was organised by a group of enthusiastic volunteers. With about 400 participants the Pinkster Tournament is still Europe’s largest LGBTIQ-tennis event. After it’s 4th edition in 1996, the first European gay & lesbian tennis club Smashing Pink was founded. A few months later the club became a member of the Dutch Tennis Association KNLTB and started to compete in the Dutch tennis competition.
