GENDER CONFERENCE
Following the mandate of the 2007 AGA in Madrid, a special Gender Conference will be organised before the 2008 AGA. The Conference will take place on Friday 29th February 2008, from 8:30 to 18:30.
Out of almost 70 registrations, the maximum of 50 participants had to be selected, according to our set rules, designed to balance a variety of priority criteria. With the generous support of our hosts, we have contracted two gender trainers to conduct the five workshops with mini-inputs and warming ups: Saskia Morell and Thomas Kugler from Germany. A lecture on Gender Theory will be done by Donata Gottardi, EU parliamentarian for PSE (Partito Socialista Europeo) and feminist activist. In the evening, there will be an official reception at the town hall. Media interest and visibility supposedly will be quite high. It will give momentum to the Italian LGBT sports movement and underline the importance and impact of EGLSF-events on regional or even national development.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS - IMPORTANT
1. FREE OFFER - Attribution of free hotel places:
1.1 - All participants at the Gender Conference will have free accommodation (see point 4.1).
1.2 - Free rooms will be attributed to AGA delegates on a “first registered – first served” basis.
1.3 - Deadline for registration of delegates willing to benefit of this offer is 20th of January 2008.
1.4 - EGLSF member clubs entitled with only one voting delegate (1-99 affiliated members, see EGLSF Bylaws, art. 9.2.1) will have right only to one (1) free place.
1.5 - EGLSF member clubs entitled to more than one voting delegate (more than 100 affiliated members, see EGLSF Bylaws, art. 9.2.2 and 9.2.3) will have the right to a maximum of two (2) free places, in principle one for a male delegate and other for a female. A waiting list will be established to attribute potential free places left.
(In order to facilitate the accommodation tasks, please pay special attention to points 1.4 and 1.5, i.e., don't ask for more hotel places you are entitled to).
2. SPECIAL OFFER - Booking (50 euros per person/place/night)
2.1 - Rooms will be attributed to delegates on a “first registered – first served” basis.
2.2 - Deadline for registration of delegates willing to benefit of this offer is 20th of January 2008.
3. HOSTED HOUSING
Deadline for registration of delegates willing to benefit of hosted housing will be 1st February 2008.
4. SPECIFIC REMARKS
4.1 - If you are a participant exclusively at the Conference, you will have only one (1) night for free (namely this of Thursday 28th February).
4.2 - If you are exclusively an AGA delegate that have been selected for free accommodation, you will have, in principle, only two (2) nights for free (those of Friday 29th February and Saturday 1st March). Nevertheless, taking account that not all places will be covered by participants at the Conference, the rooms still available for Thursday 28th February will be attributed to those asking for them, following the same rule of "first registered - first served".
4.3 - If you are a participant at the Conference and a AGA delegate, you will have for free, as all Conference participants, the night of Thursday 28th of February. This does not necessarily mean you will have automatically for free the two following nights. It would depend of your selection, and taking into account of the mentioned rule of “first registered – first served”.
5. ALTERNATIVE ACCOMMODATION
Taking account of the limited places available, all AGA delegates asking for the hotel free offer, should indicate as well, just in case they are not selected (remember the rule “first registered – first served"), an alternative accommodation, i.e. hotel special offer or hosted housing, (see registration form) according to their specific interests. If no alternative accommodation is indicated, it would be understood that those delegates would arrange their own accommodation.
IMPORTANT: Please, DO NOT get in touch directly with Ripa Hotel concerning the reservations.
EGLSF Board and Rome hosts are doing their best in favour of the fairest management of the accommodation available. We count on your understanding, cooperation and good will and we ask you to read and follow carefully the above rules in order to facilitate AGA and Conference organisation.
